It’s so cold lately and I think shopping in the comfort of our homes is something that was made for times like these. I am not a big online shopper but when it gets bellow -10, I am a big fan of my bed and a hot cup of tea. It’s really hard to get me to do anything in this painful weather, but I also am a shopaholic and to fulfill my addiction I need to do some online shopping. Often people tell me to shop online because there are so many opportunities to save money. And who doesn’t want to save money?
I remember when I was younger I used to watch the extreme couponing show on TLC and would be so impressed by all the money saving. I've always wanted to try to be an extreme couponer but I am really not organised when it comes to stuff like that. Last year one of my best friends did it and she literally had a store of supplies in her house. From mascara to laundry detergents, she had everything. I live in a tiny one bedroom apartment downtown Toronto so it’s a big NO NO!!! And my French self can’t go to the grocery or big department stores once a week and do my shopping for the next 10 days. Buying in bulk like Costco has never been a part of my life and often that's the offers you get with coupons: buy one get two free. I hate planning and I think couponing is for planners. But don’t get me wrong I love saving money and when I saw how much my friend was saving I was really impressed and almost became an extreme couponer (NOT). So what if I told you there was a solution for people like me that love saving money but can’t be bothered with all the coupons? What if you could easily go online, and find all available discounts from tons of Canada's top retailer, not just the grocery? Well ladies and gentlemen it exists and it’s called “RetailMeNot”. I love the idea behind Ebates but I love when it’s instantly cheaper (I am a skeptical old lady, haha kidding). Again, I have a fast paced life and I really don’t have time to track my Ebates money return.
So let’s talk about RetailMeNot. This website first was made popular in the United States and has been in Canada for a few years now. My friends in the States have been using it for a while and enjoy the service. So the website is made for people like me that are literally technologically challenged, so... Yes your nana’s can use this. All you need to do is search for a store and the website will tell you if there are any promo codes or coupons. So for example I hate going to Sephora (always a sh** show) but I know the products that I want and enjoy ordering online (PERKS: you get some samples when you order online so why even bother going through the craziness?). Last week while testing the website I got 15% off my whole purchase at Sephora (thank you RetailMeNot).
With Valentine’s Day around the corner I thought this would give you Canadian romantics enough time to take advantage of this website. RetailMeNot has plenty of Valentine’s Day discounts on flowers, jewellery shops and the list goes on... This would be a prime time to test the website and to take away the stress and save you from that last minute run to the mall. Shopping from your phone at home, the office, or even before bed is ideal; plus you get to save money! So honestly what are you waiting for? Go online and try our Canadian retail website and let me know what you think in the comment section below!
